The Eurorail, our new digs, and Copenhagen

I gotta admit, I'm digging the public transportation out here. The train yesterday was awesome. It takes you through the little cities between Stockholm and Copenhagen. We actually took 1 train from Stockholm to Malmo then another to Copenhagen since it was cheaper than taking the 1 way train all the way to Copenhagen from Stockholm.
Once we got into Copenhagen, we split up temporarily so we could find our respective accomodations then we agreed to meet up later. We grabbed a taxi and gave him the address to our hotel. He didn't know where it was so he had to input the address into his GPS (BTW, ALL taxis in Copenhagen are Mercedez Benz's. Not a bad job to drive around a $60,000 car all day.) How is this for cool? Once he realized where it was relative to the metro rail, he offered to take us back to the train station since it would be cheaper to take the metro than it would for him to drive us. We declined and thanked him and he proceeded to give us all of the info about our area as well as how to go in and out of the city via the rail system.
Our apartment is in an amazing location not to mention AWESOME. It's right around the corner from the metro station (we are 6 stops from the center of the city. About a 10 minute ride), a huge new shopping center, and a golf course. It's absolutely beautiful. Once we got here, I really didn't want to leave again but we still had to go back into the city for dinner. The owner Carstens met us to leave us the keys. He was a tall, professional looking man who told us he and his wife bought this apartment for his kids once they get older. They rent it out almost all year long otherwise. It's HUGE. 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 2 balconies, washer/dryer, kitchen dining, living room. I've already forgotten about my beloved Story Hotel in Stockholm.

After freshening up, we used our newly acquired knowledge about the metro rail system to make our way into Copenhagen. Our stop, Orestad, is about a quarter mile from the apartment. Once there, you buy a 10 trip ticket (though we noticed there is noone to police travelling without one) and get onboard! 10 minutes later and 6 stops later, we got off at Kongens Nytorv and walked down to the hotel Erika and Reed were staying.

If you've seen any pictures of Copenhagen, you've probably seen the picture of the Nyhavn pier. It's a quarter mile or so pier lined with gorgeous, brightly colored buildings and restaurant after restaurant. It's amazing. We ate at an Italian restaurant thene went to a pub down the street afterwards for a couple of drinks to celebrate our new locale. Cheers to everyone!
Today I'm meeting up with a friend of a friend who just moved here to do some sightseeing. Let's see what today brings shall we?
