Art, the Hard Rock Cafe, a mermaid statue, and an Aston Martin...

Today was the first day I woke up genuinely tired. I guess all that walking and getting 5 hours of sleep per night finally caught up to me. I really was planning on taking a half day and just maybe see some sights in the morning, then come back to the apartment and relax. Didn't quite work out that way, but I'm still back at a decent hour.

The day started with Crissy telling me that Erika and the wedding party group were going to see the National Museum and the Crown Jewels at 9am then she was off to help with wedding stuff. I wasn't really planning on going, but I found some energy after breakfast so said I'd go. We took the metro into the city and went to their hotel to meet them, then a group of about 7 of us took off for the National Museum. Well, of course one person volunteered and said they knew the way. I went along and didn't question it. So we took off walking. We walked through the Botanical Garden and saw some pretty amazing churches and then got to the National...

...Gallery!!!

It was free so we went in and walked around for a bit. Then everyone decided they wanted to go to the National Museum. So I take my map to the info booth at the National Gallery and ask the pretty girl where the National Museum was. She takes the map and circles where we are. Then circles where the National Museum is. 3 block from where we started from! D'OH AGAIN!!!
So I take the lead this time and lead us back to the museum. By then, the wedding party group had maybe 20 minutes to check out the museum then had to go. I looked at everything. I love museums. After I finished, we were pretty hungry so we decided to go to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. Yes, I know what you are thinking. The Hard Rock Cafe?!?! I wanted to go to pick up a Hard Rock Zippo lighter. I have Hard Rock Zippos from every hard rock I've been to. Maybe 6 or 7 now from all over. However, I guess I have to check my bag now since you can't carry a lighter onto an airplane! If it's convenient in Oslo, I'll get one there too. Nicole had texted us wondering what we were up to so we invited her to meet us at the HRC. After finishing up lunch, we decided we were too tired to really do much more walking so we instead opted to take one of the boat tours. They are these boats that sit super low in the water to get under the low bridges around the city. It takes you to the main hot spots but you get to see if from the outside (the water). It was also probably the only way I was going to get to see "The Little Mermaid" sculpture that Copenhagen is so famous for since it's a bit Northeast from where I am and I doubt I'd get out that way in the next day. Speaking on which, I only saw the back of her but I was told that she has a very sad look on her face. Poor thing.
On a side note, we saw this fine piece of A today. Aston Martin DB9. 6.0 litre V-12. $155,000. James Bond's car. 'Nuff said.
